BULLDOG TALES

PRINCIPAL POINTS

** Before school, most adults are now using the curved red curb area for allowing their student to exit the vehicle. Thank you. Parents who wish to walk their student to class need to park and accompany their student across the parking lot. Please do not allow students to walk from the parking area, or the center parking area without adult supervision. There are too many moving vehicles moving in too many directions for students to negotiate their way through traffic. For safety’s sake, please also have your student exit at the red curb on the curb side of the vehicle, not the traffic side.

SITE COUNCIL

The Ione Elementary School (IES) School Site Council (SSC) is looking for more parent and/or community members interested in improving and maintaining our school’s programs and learning environment. The SSC is comprised up of a combination of school staff, faculty, administration and parent/community members. The purpose of the SSC is to develop and/or identify common goals to make our school better and develop the School Improvement Plan (SIP) for our site. This includes budgeting available monies for school-related programs and educational areas. The SSC meets one afternoon a month and usually has one or two all day meetings in the spring. Site Council is a two-year commitment. If you are interested in becoming a parent/community member of the IES School Site Council, please contact Mr. Wight at the School office 257-7000.

EARLY ARRIVALS
Please do not drop off your students before 7:30 am as there is no supervision for them. This is a real safety issue. We cannot have students dropped off before 7:30 am. If there are students here before then we will be calling their parents.

LATE STUDENTS & HOT LUNCHES
If your student arrives late, or you know they will not be arriving before 9:00 am, please let the office know if they will be having a hot lunch so that they can be added to the lunch count on that day.

PHONE MESSAGES
We will deliver phone messages to students only in the case of an emergency. Please make sure all plans are made before your student leaves for school and that they know exactly what they are suppose to do when school gets out.

LATE BUS?
If your students bus is late coming home, call transportation, not the school office. Transportation phone #223-0871.
